Land of Legends
HRRVC Region VII joins AZ and NM
When: October 25-28, 2017
Where: Butterfield RV Resort, Bensen AZ
Cost: $230.00
The structure of this rally will allow attendees a full day to explore Cochise County. No matter how many times one has been in the area, there are always new wonders to enjoy.
Land of Legends, a corner of Southeastern Arizona that offers so many different flavors. Delving into the lives of the ancients the Amerind Foundation and Museum seeks to foster and promote knowledge and understanding of the Native Peoples of the Americas through research, education, and conservation. The museum and gallery are nestled in Texas Canyon of the Dragoon Mountains. We plan to learn more during the upcoming HRRVC Rally. Perhaps a journey to Tombstone- "The Town too Tough to Die" or down to Bisbee voted "America's Best Historic Small Town"
During the rally, we shall welcome a variety of presenters to share with attendees information including: a speaker to outline all possible sites in Cochise County for a visit; Gary Kartchner on Balance - "Standing and Walking with Care", Dr. Eric J. Kaldah-Amerind Museum-The Museum & "Migration into the Southwest"; Chapter 309 member Vivian Firlein sharing photos and stories on the "Wonders of Exploring & Hiking in our Southwest"; and a program at the Benson Historical Society on both the "History and Art in Benson." One other program, not confirmed at this writing, is from Customs and Border Patrol on security in our Southwest.
A major reason for the selection of Butterfields RV Park is the observatory on-site. Offered each evening will be a program on the Skies of the Southwest using the Meade LX-200 GPS 16-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. This university quality installation is housed in a 15' diameter electrically operated dome.
Also on the program will an afternoon of outdoor games, a Ladies Luncheon with speaker, a Men's Cookout, 3 dinners, 4 continental breakfasts and a round table discussion. These along with many opportunities to just relax and enjoy the friendship of fellow RVers.
Just a taste of what lies ahead during our 2017 Region VII - AZ & NM HRRVC Rally. Registration form is in this issue of Ramblings. The rally is open all, so bring your friends.
